We started the month by taking a second trip to San Diego. This time it was just Conner, Riley and me. Since it was just the 3 of us we flew over. Riley had never been on an airplane and Conner was to little to rember when he flew. Here they are waiting to get on the plane. <br />

They both enjoyed looking out the window. At one point we were surrounded by clouds and one of them asked me if this is what heaven looks like. Once we landed Grandma and Grandpa picked us up and we went off to Seaworld for the evening to watch the fireworks. If you have not seen the shows at Seaworld after dark I highly reccomend that you check them out. <br />

</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">Roxanne and I took the boys to the zoo and the wild animal park. The wild animal park had a dinosaur exhibit visiting, the boys really enjoyed it. Riley was a little worried about the life like dinosaurs when we first got to them. But after a few minutes he figured out they were not going to eat him. <br />

We went to the tide pools first to check out some sea creatures. We found some really neat stuff. </span><br /><br /><div><div><div><div><div><span style="color:#cc0000;">It was a little cold when we got to the tide pools so instead of putting on shorts we rolled up our pants and kept on our jackets. Conner kept "slipping" into the water. He was so wet when we got done he had to change into his shorts to dry out. </span><br /><br /></div><div><div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319851381444790642" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvEYM6bJ0Q17U84yq0_sO3C6eblDQ6_GHa1mf76wXlJQVL_Q00A3veRMIP_JcxBF_Byk2fNM9_po-AoniWWcbzxOSSD2JcYGPy6EuWXjdVz5NfsVszYDO8brXrRNmhll_48JLN0TisUNw/s400/sandiego+208.jpg" border="0" /> <span style="color:#cc0000;">Riley really did slip a lot so we spent a lot of time holding his hand. It was awesome. First we had breakfast with the orca whales. It was so cool. We got to sit less than 10 feet from the tank and the whales put on a private show.</span><br /><div><span style="color:#ff6600;"></span><br /><br /></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319841012166611810" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpnXpm1b8luRq7I6F0zwD8zxPZg1e16QTzoGXBm8KdFgRrT_OzcuSEMXnljoRxIcSH9EqPY9JU1ODsrWlqvSVO7iAT4NxjCfuL9zTUY9otiZoEat5lHs8DwYOvszF-84kvg7WNa86IeJU/s400/sandiego+340.jpg" border="0" /><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#ff6600;"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319841003863298258" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQXWcphjWhXhuDxAiT6q6bZ9t_GPLTFGP9o6cplaeP2BFTV7zRBLrFWgbg2zGNpdx8aTEbZIz-fiJbblwQLRqNx52aRQ2nF9NQMa48e97wURW9hGmqhlAoqmr_YRr0Ox5hLBgWLnciHOI/s400/sandiego+330.jpg" border="0" /></span></div><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#ff6600;">When we got done with breakfast we went to the rays and the boys fed them fish. Sorry no pictures we were all busy feeding them. They are so slimy but really grace full to watch. After we fed the rays we went to the hands on area. Sorry I can't remember what they call it. But the boys loved it. They got to reach in and pick up sea creatures. I was afraid Riley was just going to climb in with them. </span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#ff6600;"></span></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319842557373696162" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOyoOWUQln3Y_51ZXl7qbHjF3yU0fyQhOwclwZYhUslq5U-2Ek9I9t3udN1ck7xFkO122zn4O0zLUAPVvDmr_REYu35v-J8Q8aDx7cxbT0tfOOJ3fE0wEPopP1Hml-p5FQe1hAzjf11hU/s400/sandiego+348.jpg" border="0" /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319842559157950098" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmJqw6hPyeQ4yUblftf-R96OZMHfIAo3wWkMwZMi62WLce-t5nyBTy3-RKXVlpzxLbduEdTFzgJJDuyic7FV6HT4oROu8tUS2V4PYTA4FErJXmFZAlc1G6JqWzX5QZkDEpZcPnIAkCR1w/s400/sandiego+357.jpg" border="0" /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#ff6600;"></span></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319842556362602930" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiky33NCgnYMC8CDQrbIptzpUJy1LG0eSgJm7cpiM99zjRrIIzAWShzL9fMVRICyQspwnzPBus2Dq8G9jAVVVrHsMQGVKlu00JGaRWEPsKamGYehhNSLlwKYwrAe0pjJ29wSO55D6O5iv4/s400/sandiego+354.jpg" border="0" /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#ff6600;">Then we watched the Shamu show and the dolphin show. The boys, Michael and his dad, Randy, sat in the "soak zone" during the Shamu show. Roxanne made Riley a homemade poncho and Michael and Randy had ponchos. Josh and Conner chose to go without and got soaked. The really mean wet when they say you will get splashed. Roxanne and I sat up high enough not to get wet so I took some really cool pictures of the whales. I had to sit in the soak zone during the dolphin show so my camera stayed in Michael's back pack. It has been turned into a floating museum.<br /><br />When we got on board they gave everyone except Riley (he was to young) a set of head phones and a hand held guide. Michael and Riley went off on their own tour and Roxanne and I took the other 2 and did the self guided audio tour. It was pretty impressive.</span></div><br /><br /><div><br /><br /><p><span style="color:#000099;">Conner didn't really fit but he had to have his picture taken in this seat anyway.</span></p><br /><br /><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319816244895975634" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwnHKByPCVgQlPRlNUZ3Wui9Jr8YOx5612BsvIFVujzFDvoETvm2GrMcve-QmES_VvobUvymkQx5QZ4Ztls1OqE1gYNQO-hT9BqctrI9rbROiCNQ_vJUgdC93k09aNNY8g0fVx-7xo96w/s400/sandiego+580.jpg" border="0" /><br /><span style="color:#000099;">There were retired planes and helicopters on the Midway. I asked for ideas for dinner this morning before school and I got the standard answer. "I don't know" I wish someone would create a dish full of yummy vegetables and call it "I don't' know". I would make it, wouldn't you? That would teach them. </span><br /><span style="color:#003300;"></span><br /><span style="color:#003300;">My husband is the same way. He never has ideas for dinner. I take that back he has one idea and he suggests it often. Meat Loaf. </span><br /><span style="color:#003300;"></span><br /><span style="color:#003300;">I want some help. I am sick and tired of making the same stuff for dinner. Please post recipes either in the comments to this post or on your blog. I am going to post a recipe as soon as I decide which one. I will make sure it is a kid friendly recipe. </span><br /><span style="color:#003300;"></span><br /><span style="color:#003300;">Please help me fight the dinner time blues. </span>Meganhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01796696524447006986noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2525572399152717796.post-72383698269271399872009-03-03T15:18:00.000-08:002009-03-03T15:22:07.792-08:00Caren is having a GIRL.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9aFubcN-cijIh_2ajiLvqbIaVDMzDKw-LPqgXc-jLJ9jevg9qCzfU3Wo2jQWlqMknpspc_8DMZHBIUnXBKfYM3VMKJtLwHqk50HfxEN20LE8x5STfgiSU2TenZFAQt1WKHlNSle4-Po8/s1600-h/images.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309105753800631234" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 135px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 135px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9aFubcN-cijIh_2ajiLvqbIaVDMzDKw-LPqgXc-jLJ9jevg9qCzfU3Wo2jQWlqMknpspc_8DMZHBIUnXBKfYM3VMKJtLwHqk50HfxEN20LE8x5STfgiSU2TenZFAQt1WKHlNSle4-Po8/s400/images.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><span style="color:#ffccff;">For those of you who know my sister Caren I thought I would post her great news. Weather or not you agree with his views, you must admit it is pretty cool to think how far this country has come. Only a short while ago everyone was judged only by the color of their skin not by what kind of a person they were. I am proud to live in a country that has made such huge strides to improve the way people are treated. </span><br /><span style="color:#009900;"></span><br /><span style="color:#009900;">Now if President Obama can just turn around the economy, end the wars and keep all the other campaign promises he made, we just might be better off at the end of the 4 years the American voters have given him. I for one can't wait to see what happens next. </span><br /><span style="color:#009900;"></span><br /><span style="color:#009900;">I know some people are scared or depressed that the other guy didn't win. I choose to recognize that the American voters made a choice and hope that it is a great one. "United We Stand" is the way I look at it. </span>Meganhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01796696524447006986noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2525572399152717796.post-33474497625292426682009-01-19T11:05:00.001-08:002009-01-19T11:09:27.421-08:0034 1/2 Hours<p><span style="color:#bf0000;">Michael and I left Saturday at 1 PM for Phoenix. We had tickets to the Cardinals game. We left the boys with my parents. Thanks mom and dad. So it was going to be a whole day and a half without kids. We made it to our hotel fine and checked in. Then off to do a little shopping. We spent a few hours shopping and then had dinner. I really nice dinner WITHOUT kids. The next morning we had to leave the hotel at 7 to get a parking spot at the game. We got a great spot. Right in the front row by the exit of the parking lot. We got to the stadium before any of the restaurants opened so we people watched for a while why we waited. While we were waiting I saw a Cardinals cheer leader I had to take a picture of she was a cutie.</span></p><p><span style="color:#bf0000;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjh9W5S9gCDZswhWu8eu2HYVqWwqWqPqIkimfAm9GwOgmAY-9xfK8J26W-rtaWT8YUow9pZ8K2RYoaCxIILNNl5iMtR1ak1Gd-gnQd1IlOngY5yky9sExCSVqmgS6lO2WonlaW_tCcPE6k/s1600-h/cardinals%20005%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="BORDER-RIGHT: 0px; BORDER-TOP: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px" height="244" alt="cardinals 005" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpsnCbg6awgXIkfmzOj0qTmovLhh9thzmIrbPo043waECJQaQOGicrf0kkPkkXFK7FL8HPICXplJGXILuQOIpHhgIJiFM_g7or58XYu1WDzUzXYTR_hGbBmWuaRl_okOzlMOKnEnSyjEY/?imgmax=800" width="184" border="0" /></a> </span></p><p><span style="color:#bf0000;">Next we had some not great breakfast. Places that are not usually open for breakfast, don't make good breakfast. After breakfast we did more people watching. It still amazes me what some people will walk around in public wearing. All I can say is they kept us entertained for hours. Our next stop was the line at <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Margaritaville</span> for a table for lunch. It was around 10 AM at this point and the lines at all of the restaurants were getting really long. We got lucky and only had to wait for 15-20 minutes for a table for 5. Then we had to wait for an hour for Michael's dad, brother-in-law and nephew to show up. We had a great lunch, we ordered the Volcano Nachos. HOLY COW. They are a pile of nachos at least 10 inches tall and at least that big around. I should have taken a picture of them but I was hungry and forgot. After lunch it was off to the stadium. Once again more people watching was required. The lines into the stadium moved quickly, we were in our seats with 20-30 minutes until game time. Here are some pictures from before the game. </span></p><p><span style="color:#bf0000;"></span></p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7WKB-8xJOILsWX1fl_oZlKStKsuimtw8V2SN7f_oqIksh5AbT1f9TvpW6Cw2IIodHmOw-sIPI-3mFGOgYmMuMJMpWCnF2hu79aItDxDLs2ZEZB7-nlAfQ8fc3Bzjfn4KIZQhA16G1f04/s1600-h/cardinals%20012%5B5%5D.jpg"><img style="BORDER-RIGHT: 0px; BORDER-TOP: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px" height="184" alt="cardinals 012" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZUnmiZGdchJTbHGPloqN_otwtOEc-OlIYK5YhvqwfwhTYRBJh4UGaCjdbmSr7xm_AI_XkpZjRk7SZJC8NVCywz3os8xyyzJEES0TC7S9b7r3gL_jv5S6JT2vKyRGa1f0_K6p8j_wiYYU/?imgmax=800" width="244" border="0" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWD3CNxO5ACq2_kUGVPbh3h0VrYOZlh7kmKZzVB7sejnhJ9fsL5Wx3qUN0dTMJeQpLHQwHDD8U2jiyKceqDX7OPSEfMnnmC7RsHhzin1t0J33JA9bSIu7Yd5M2_UcTemIwIo0mA0il_EU/s1600-h/cardinals%20013%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="BORDER-RIGHT: 0px; BORDER-TOP: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px" height="184" alt="cardinals 013" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7w0SIzFQB3KLgUjuqu6HZzQdotyrJbfzfPoiqfhRW26NmyRpW5gBUTepgODQRweY46PVymly0lON5oKvz37mZgqWj8IXm0uk3gEU3O0K23AIsuuzJMMUYXQ3GNZeXcx07Te9HIpAhqXg/?imgmax=800" width="244" border="0" /></a> </p><p> </p><p><span style="color:#bf0000;">Finally it was game time. The Eagles came out first to a big <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">BOOOOOO</span> from the Cardinal fans. Then came the home team. It gets loud in there fast. We made one stop and had dinner then headed home. We got as far as the 202 exit ramp onto Country Club. We were sitting at the light waiting to turn onto Country Club when we got rear ended. Michael got out and talked to the guy driving the truck and got his insurance card then we moved to a gas station instead of blocking traffic. When Michael got back in the car with me he told me the other guy smelled like alcohol so I called 911 and reported the accident. We waited at the gas station and a DPS officer showed up. Then another one and then one more. They did a report on the accident and a field sobriety test on the other driver. He must have failed it because then they did a <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">breathalyzer</span> on him. He must have failed it to because they arrested him and took him to jail. Then one of the DPS officers came and told us the guy was going to be charged with a felony because he had his 12 year old son in the truck. It took us an hour with the police but is was worth it. That guy might have killed some one after he hit us if we didn't call the police. All in all it was a great 34.5 half hours for the two of us. Even if we did hit a few bumps (or get hit by them). </span></p>Meganhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01796696524447006986noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2525572399152717796.post-75497107185437288752008-12-27T14:16:00.001-08:002008-12-27T14:19:15.203-08:00White Christmas one day late?<p align="center"><span style="color:#1f0587;">Evidently mother nature did not get the memo from my kids asking for a white Christmas until Christmas was over. She did, however, come through with snow. It snowed basically all day yesterday. The boys wanted to go sledding, but we kept telling them not until after it stopped snowing. That did not happen yesterday. </span></p><p align="center"><span style="color:#1f0587;"></span> </p><p align="center"><span style="color:#1f0587;">The first thing they asked this morning was can we go sledding? The entire first grade got together and put on a great show. This afternoon one of the toilets plugged up, or so I thought. Then, a little while later one of the other toilets plugged up. Then, to my suprise, the bathtubs backed up. I will not give you any of the gross details about what keeps coming up in my bathtubs. Let me just say, I will be filling them with pure bleach for a few days before we will be using them again. We called the city and they came out and tried to unclog the line. Unfortunately, we can't find the clean outs for our house and we have no idea which way the line runs. </span><br /><span style="color:#000066;"></span><br /><span style="color:#000066;">Without the use of the kitchen sink I did not cook dinner. The kids and I went to El Camino while Michael went to a planning and zoning meeting. When we got home I tried flushing one of the toilets and it worked. So we flushed another and it to worked. Yeah. </span><br /><span style="color:#000066;"></span><br /><span style="color:#000066;">I decided I did not want to take the chance and flood the house, so I took the boys to grandma's to shower. Josh was finishing up taking out the trash, so I told him to come to grandma's when he was done. When he got there he told me that the bathtub in one bathroom was half way full and the toilet in the other was about to over flow. </span><br /><span style="color:#000066;"></span><br /><span style="color:#000066;">I ran home to check, and sure enough there was water backing up into the house. Nothing has actually over flowed onto the floor, yet. But I had to take water out of one of the toilets so it did not spill out onto the floor. Yuck. </span><br /><span style="color:#000066;"></span><br /><span style="color:#000066;">We have called the city, again and Smoke, the great guy that he is, went to city hall and figured out where our sewer line runs. They are currently working to unclog it. I am hope full that we will be able to flush a toilet again soon. If not we will be doing a lot of walking back and forth to grandma's house to use the facilities. </span><br /><span style="color:#000066;"></span><br /><span style="color:#000066;">Some day we will look back at this and laugh right???</span>Meganhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01796696524447006986noreply@blogger.com4
